First Sunday off in 2 months!

What a great feeling that is! Seriously, ever since I told my manager that I couldn't work during the week he has made me work every single Sunday and Saturday for 5-8 hours each day. I've got to say, It was nice getting to have a day off for once.

So Michelle, aka: My best friend, and I went shopping today to find me a homecoming dress. What a day! We drove all the way to Melbourne Square Mall to look for one and didn't find squat.

ugh.

So after the nastiest lunch of chicken tenders I've had in a while ( Thank you, Piccadilly) we headed up to the Avenues. On just a hunch we went into Ross, more so to look at shoes than anything else, when what did we find but...

A MILLION DRESSES, ALL IN MY (and her) SIZE!

It was a magical experience to say the least. So after a good hour and a half of asking her "What do you think about this one?" and "Do you like this one, or this one, better?" Oh, and you can't forget "Can you help me with the zipper? Its caught on the fabric." We finally found a beautiful, wavy little black dress with just a hint of skanky-ness that in essential to a homecoming dress.

To add to the excitement, I found some hooker shoes. The heel...yea, its about 5 inches. :D So sweet.

The best part? Guess how much I spent...

$100? Too high
$60? Still too high
$50? You're getting closer...

I got a dress and shoes for $38.25, I spent the day with my best friend, and we got milkshakes for the ride home. Today was the best day I've had in a while.

Just thought you, my reader, should know.

With much love,
Katie

Ps. If you can think of a catchy catch-phrase to end my blog with, I'd appreciate it. :)

"The Truth is I Never Left You"

I guess I'm really emotional right now (either that or I'm just going crazy) so I decided to take the time to post this...

I absolutely adore this song.

I've been listening to it more and more recently and lately, due to a lot of things that are going on in my live, it's even moved me to tears. So please, take the time to listen to the song and follow along with the lyrics here...

Don't Cry For Me Argentina

It won't be easy, you'll think it strange
When I try to explain how I feel
that I still need your love after all that I've done

You won't believe me
All you will see is a girl you once knew
Although she's dressed up to the nines
At sixes and sevens with you

I had to let it happen, I had to change
Couldn't stay all my life down at heel
Looking out of the window, staying out of the sun

So I chose freedom
Running around, trying everything new
But nothing impressed me at all
I never expected it to

Don't cry for me Argentina
The truth is I never left you
All through my wild days
My mad existence
I kept my promise
Don't keep your distance

And as for fortune, and as for fame
I never invited them in
Though it seemed to the world they were all I desired

They are illusions
They are not the solutions they promised to be
The answer was here all the time
I love you and hope you love me

Don't cry for me Argentina

Don't cry for me Argentina
The truth is I never left you
All through my wild days
My mad existence
I kept my promise
Don't keep your distance

Have I said too much?
There's nothing more I can think of to say to you.
But all you have to do is look at me to know
That every word is true

A lot of those words are things I wish I could say to different people or groups of people....I can't explain right now, but I will say this:

I love you guys, with all my heart.

Ode to Swine Flu

So it seems like I finally have gotten this God awful sickness. ugh. I look and feel like crap and I sound like a man. What more could I ask for? For the record though, its not really swine flu, at least not yet. Its like, baby flu - the fever. whatever, I'm still planning on going to marching band regardless of how I feel. Oh yea, and we have an away game Friday and All-State auditions on Saturday. Joy.

6:45am

So I woke up and can't speak.
My first instinct was "OMG I'm late for zero block". (Am I just the prime example of Band Geek or what?) Anyway, my second reaction was to actually try to speak. No such luck. I currently sound like a cross between a chipmunk and a manly-man. Its horrid to say the least. I called Heather and told her I was sick so she could find another ride and then I called Schwindt to let him know what was up.

"Hi Katie Hall"
(horrid voice) "Hi Mr.Schwindt, How are you?"
"Good, you sound awful. Stay home."
"Thanks...see you soon."

This is why Schwindt is my favorite. <3

So after my Mom gets home from work I find out that she has a dentist appointment and can't drive me to the doctor. Guess who went to the doctor by herself for the first time today?
It was kind of strange to be honest. Sitting in that waiting room all by myself with no one to talk to...(wait, who the hell am I fooling? I couldn't talk anyway...) Whatever.

Came home and took a 4 hour nap. ***Highlight of my day***

4:00 pm...

I hate my father.
I honestly do...he comes home today and is like, "I didn't get any fucking sleep last night, I'm going to bed" so here I am in my pjs feeling like absolute shit and he decides not to even check up on me. Thanks Daddy. Then on his way up to bed he says, "Order pizza by 5 so we can have it for dinner" Thats no so bad, I can do that, i'll just do it online so I don't have to talk to anyone, Or so I thought. Turns out the website was down so I had to call 411 and repeat myself to the operator 5 times that I was looking for the number to Pizzahut then spend 10mins on the phone with the pizza boy trying to help him understand what I wanted on the pizzas. >.< (Just for the record, my voice really is that bad)

So once the whole deal with the pizza is done, and Dad is still catching some Zs, my sibling decides to text me and let me know that she needs someone to pick her up from school.

Wonderful.

Here I am in my kitty pj pants, a sloppy shirt with soup stains on it from lunch and my hair pulled back in an un-brushed bun and I have to leave the house. Not only was I picking Meg up, but also her stupid little friend that I can't stand needed a ride home too. "Whatever" I thought "its not like anyone is going to see me, I'm just going to pick Megz up and drive home." WRONG. I saw like 10 people I know, all of which made a point to tell me today on facebook how horrible I looked today and that they hope I'm feeling better. I appreciate them caring, but I hate the fact that they got to see me looking like shit.

Once I got home I ate dinner with my family and proceeded to watch 2 hours of Dexter (best show ever) When Dad decided to be a jerk again. "Would you get off of your dead ass for once and help your sister with her spelling words? Jesus Christ Katie, look at all of these fucking dishes. Make sure those are done before your Mom gets home in the morning. Oh and since I know you'll be up anyway, Why don't you wash my uniform and and hang it up so I can sleep in for 20 extra minutes."

On the inside I just wanted to scream. "Off my dead ass? I've been sick as a dog all day! I drove myself to the doctor so mom could go to her dentist appointment, asshole! Oh and Help Erin? You're sitting right there! Why can't you do it? Oh yea, I know why. You're too fucking stupid to even read her words out loud. Come on Daddy, Lets sound it out. in-fer-i-or-ity, inferiority! GOOD JOB! The dishes, you want me to do the dishes? Ok sure, I'll do them the second you ask me like I'm a human being and not command me like i'm a fucking slave. Lastly, Asshole, Fuck you and your clothes. Its not my job to do your laundry because you're to wake up early." I mean, I'm not a selfish bitch that doesn't want to help my Dad; its the way he asked (excuse me, TOLD) me to do it.

I'm going to bed. Being sick makes me crabby.

Much Love,

Katie Hall

Oh my...its been a while.

So, when I said that I wouldn't be able to keep up with my blog, I was right. Ugh. Anyway, after 8 months of not posting anything, I'm going to try again to get into this thing.

I've made the decision this summer that I'm going to be super serious about flute from here on out. I mean, I want to go into music education at FSU in two years so I guess its now or never. Mr.Schwindt has gotten me in touch with Nancy Clew, an amazing flute teacher that taught Katie Kelly and Ashley Stahl, and she has decided that shes willing to teach me.

Oh. My. God.

I'm freaking out. I'm not great at flute, despite what many people would like to believe. In fact, compared to half of the section in 0 block, I suck.

What the Hell was I thinking?

This woman is super intense! Shes going to eat me alive, I'm sure. ugh

Anyway, I'll have to write more later. I'm going to see Grease in about an hour and a half then off to work at Winn-Dixie. (ha! My last post was when I had just gotten my job...I'm still there. A 10 cent raise and two awards later, they love me. I think I'm pretty safe despite all of the time I've requested off for band. =]])

Audios!

Guess who got a job!

Ahh yes, my patience has finally paid off! I'm, as of yesterday, employed at Winn Dixie on Singleton and Dairy. I'm ecstatic to get the job, and the fact that Rhett and Andrea Parent both work there just makes it that much better. :)

So after calling about 5 times on several days, they finally set me up with an interview. I went in and began to talk to the manager, named Josh, for about a minute or so before the asked me to tell me about myself. Well, I began to list off everything I do, including two band classes a day plus marching band. At that point, he stopped me and asked what I play. I told him flute and with a smile, he replied that he used to play french horn.

Long story short, He gave me the job on the spot. I'm so excited right now that I can hardly contain myself. I went down for my drug test, (ended up waiting outside the office for half an hour with this older woman due to the fact the office was out to lunch), and called all of my family members.

So here I am, a cashier at Winn Dixie (The Beef People!) making $7.51 (or was it $7.21?) an hour, and I couldn't be happier. :) I can't wait until training.

Anywayyyyy....I'm looking for some new music, if you have any suggestions, lemmie know. :)

In other good news...Thursday starts the new semester, which means...NEW SCHEDULE!!! To my millions of curious readers, here it is:

0 block: band
1 block: College algebra /stats
2 block: band
3 block: Pre-Ap English 2/ World History Honors
4 block: AP Music History

Mmkay, so still no catch phrase...audios all. I'll blog again soon. :)

Sunday, January 4, 2009

Well, here it goes...

After seeing several people I know start these silly blogs, I decided that I might as well start one too. I mean hey, who wouldn't want to read another average blog about your average teenager with a pretty average life? Who knows if I'll even keep up with this, but at least I can give it a try. :)

I guess I see this blog as a chance to release some of the built up frustration I seem to acquire everyday living my "average" life. Something you have to understand; my life isn't bad, horrible, suckish, effed up, or terrible by any means. I understand this, yet when I write blogs (usually on myspace) it often sounds that way. So, be forewarned, I'm kinda emotional.

Soooo....today, lets see here....

I went to help teach k-1st grade Sunday school at my church (CCD) only to find out I'm responsible for the lesson in two weeks. Honestly, I'm freaking out. I realize that theres no reason to be nervous, they're only 5 or 6 years old and they won't notice if i mess up, but its the fact that I'm responsible for lesson, story, and craft for about 20 kids and I'll only have one other person to help out....oh geeze.

I'm super pissed at Patrick, my best friend. Basically, he lied to his mom and said he was at church with me and my family, and he lied to me saying he wasn't able to got to church because he was with his grandparents. Where was he really? With Dani (whoever the eff THAT is...) and probably Richard. I found this all out from his mom. She decided to ask me if Patrick was with me via text message. So yea, got lied to by my "best friend"....I feel special. Pat, if you're reading this, we need to talk.

Father is being dumb....nothing new there. If I do keep up this blog, you'll notice a lot of stories about him and his pig-headedness. I'm just not even going there tonight.

Ohhh I have to call Winn Dixie tomorrow! The manager is going to review my application and maybe I'll get an interview (and hopefully a job!). Keep your fingers crossed for me. :)

Mmkay. I'm off....ya know maybe I should have a catch phrase or something...

Eh, whatever. I'll think of something when I'm not so tired. GOOD NIGHT!
